Ingredients
- 2 cups turkey broth (from cooking the turkey)
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter (I used Country Crock original)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 4 cups egg noodles, uncooked
- 2 cups cubed or shredded cooked turkey breast
How To Make kim's turkey, gravy, and egg noodles
-
Step 1In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of Country Crock over medium heat.
-
Step 2Add 2 tablespoons of flour and whisk to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes until it turns slightly golden.
-
Step 3Slowly whisk in 2 cups of turkey broth, ensuring no lumps form.
-
Step 4Add 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.
-
Step 5Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Adjust with more broth if too thick, or cook longer if too thin.
-
Step 6Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook your homemade egg noodles (likely 3-5 minutes for fresh) until al dente. (I used homemade noodles I had frozen. For my homemade egg noodle recipe, see Kim's Egg Noodles in my recipes.)
-
Step 7Drain and set aside.
-
Step 8In a large skillet or pot, mix the cooked noodles, shredded turkey, and prepared gravy.
-
Step 9Gently toss to coat evenly, heating through for 2-3 minutes if needed.
-
Step 10Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
