Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 medium red skin potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 package hot dogs halved lengthwise and cut into slices
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 - green onions diced

How To Make hot dog casserole

  • Step 1
    In a saucepan melt the butter and stir in the flour and make a roux. Gradually add the milk and bring to a boil. Cook until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    In a greased 9x9 pan layer 1/3 of the potatoes half of the hot dogs and half of the onions. Repeat layers topping with remaining potatoes. Pour milk mixture over top.
  • Step 3
    Place in a 350 degrees oven and bake for 45 minutes. Top with cheese and bake another 15 minutes. Serve garnished with green onions
