The green beans are still crispy with a hint of garlic flavor. This dish is creamy and cheesy too. It is something old but new at the same time. This green bean casserole will sure to please a crowd!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 cup red onion
  • 1 tablespoon miced garlic
  • 2 bags 12 oz frozen whole green beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can condensed mushroom soup (small can}
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 6oz bags french fried onions

How To Make garlic & butter green bean cassrole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. In a skillet over medium heat melt the butter.
  • Step 2
    Add the red onions and cook 5 minutes. Add the garlic and green beans.
  • Step 3
    Coat the beans in the butter and cook about 15 minutes.
  • Step 4
    In a large bowl add the sour cream, soup and the cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Step 5
    Add the beans and stir until mixed. Spray a casserole dish and pour the beans in.
  • Step 6
    Bake 25 minutes, then add the fried onions to the top and bake 5 more minutes!
