I created a new macaroni and cheese recipe, based on Grill Mates' garden vegetable seasoning, filled with sauteed vegetables.

Ingredients
- 2 medium carrots, sliced thick
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 tablespoons garden vegetable seasoning, divided
- 16 ounces dry penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 portebello mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sweet and tangy seasoning
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 8 ounces Gouda cheese, shredded
- 8 ounces mild cheddar cheese, shredded
How To Make garden macaroni and cheese

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Coat a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add sliced carrots, grated Parmesan cheese, and 2 tablespoons garden vegetable seasoning; mix well.

Step 3Cook penne pasta according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Season with 2 tablespoons garden vegetable seasoning; toss well.

Step 4Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add sliced portobello mushrooms, chopped red bell peppers, diced yellow onion, and minced garlic.

Step 5Cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Season with sweet and tangy seasoning, black pepper, and 1 tablespoon garden vegetable seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 6Melt margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Step 7Combine heavy whipping cream, half and half, crushed red pepper flakes, and 2 tablespoons garden vegetable seasoning, stirring often. Let simmer for 6 minutes or until thickened.

Step 8Add sauteed vegetable mixture, cooked penne pasta, and green peas. Stir well until combined. Remove from heat.

Step 9Spoon into the prepared baking dish evenly. Sprinkle with shredded Gouda and mild cheddar cheese. Season with the remaining garden vegetable seasoning.

Step 10Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
