cowboy butter barbecue bake
I created this delicious recipe for oven barbecue. It's based on Kinder's Cowboy Butter seasoning, it's Hamburger Helper on oven barbecue. It's filled with Lil Smokie sausages and cheese on the bottom.

Ingredients
- 16 ounces package lil smokie sausages
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 6 tablespoons cowboy butter seasoning, divided
- 1 pound dry elbow macaroni
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped
- 3 fresh jalapenos, sliced
- 1 medium orange bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 cup hot and spicy barbecue sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 cup light cream
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
How To Make cowboy butter barbecue bake

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2Coat the bottom and sides of a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 3Add lil smokie sausages, cubed sharp cheddar cheese, and 2 tablespoons cowboy butter seasoning, mix well.

Step 4Cook macaroni according to package directions, then drain.

Step 5Heat ground beef in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for 5 minutes or until crumbly and browned. Drain any excess fat.

Step 6Reduced to low heat.

Step 7Stir in chopped yellow onion, sliced jalapenos and chopped orange bell peppers, barbecue seasoning, ground cumin and 2 tablespoons cowboy butter seasoning, and barbecue sauce. Remove from heat.

Step 8Spoon into a prepared baking dish evenly. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step 9Melt the margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and black pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in light cream, half and half, cream cheese, dry onion soup mix, and remaining cowboy butter seasoning.

Step 10Bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat. Add cooked macaroni; mix well for 20 seconds until combined.

Step 11Spoon onto the ground beef mixture and spread evenly. Sprinkle with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step 12Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
