chicken nugget cordon bleu casserole
This new chicken nugget casserole recipe I created is in the style of chicken cordon bleu. It's great with side of garden salad and a piece of French bread.

Ingredients
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 12 - almonds, chopped
- 1 pound cavatappi pasta
- 2 packages frozen (all white meat) chicken nuggets
- 8 ounces cooked ham, cubed
- 8 ounces swiss cheese, cubed
- 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 packet Italian salad dressing mix
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
How To Make chicken nugget cordon bleu casserole

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Lightly coat the bottom and sides of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add crumbled blue cheese and chopped almonds; mix well.

Step 3Cook cavatappi pasta according to package directions; drain. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

Step 4Top with chicken nuggets, cubed ham and cubed Swiss cheese.

Step 5Mix soup, heavy cream, milk and Italian salad dressing mix in a medium bowl for 3 minutes until combined.

Step 6Spoon over cavatappi pasta mixture in the baking dish.

Step 7Melt margarine in a medium skillet over medium heat; cook and stir the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese in hot margarine until the crumbs are well coated for 3 minutes.

Step 8Sprinkle over the casserole and spread evenly.

Step 9Bake for 30 minutes or until the casserole is bubbling and lightly browned. Cool completely for 6 minutes.
