cabbage roll casserole
If you like cabbage rolls but not all the work, then this recipe is worth a try. The amount of each ingredient is flexible. Less meat, more cabbage, less rice, some sugar etc. I'm trying to emulate my mother's cabbage roles :)

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 - cabbage head, chopped
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 28 ounces tin crushed tomatoes
- 14 ounces tin diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 1 - large chopped onion
How To Make cabbage roll casserole

Step 1Brown meat, onions, garlic in large skillet.

Step 2Add cooked rice, crushed tomatoes, seasonings and stir.

Step 3Place in large casserole dish or deep lasagna pan.

Step 4Preheat oven to 350F.

Step 5Saute chopped cabbage in same large skillet until softened.

Step 6Spread cabbage on top of casserole.

Step 7Pour tin of diced tomatoes over all.

Step 8Cover with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
