I created a new steak casserole recipe. It's inspired by Kinder's Brown Sugar seasoning. It is filled with angel hair pasta and sliced yellow and orange bell peppers. This casserole is savory and sweet.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 8 tablespoons brown sugar seasoning, divided
  • 16 ounces uncooked angel hair pasta
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons margarine, divided
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 1 medium orange bell pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 3/4 cup steak sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard
  • 8 ounces light cream cheese, softened

How To Make brown sugar steak casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Coat a 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add crumbled bacon and 2 tablespoons brown sugar seasoning; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions; drain. Add 2 1/2 tablespoons of margarine and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar seasoning; toss it well until combined.
  • Step 4
    Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef stew meat, cook and saute for 6 minutes or until they are no longer pink.
  • Step 5
    Reduce to a low heat. Stir in sliced yellow and orange bell peppers, 2 tablespoons brown sugar seasoning, steak sauce, and Creole seasoning.
  • Step 6
    Remove from heat. Cool completely for 7 minutes and set aside.
  • Step 7
    Heat remaining margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Combine heavy cream, half and half, honey mustard, cream cheese, and the remaining brown sugar seasoning. Stir well and bring it to a boil for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Step 8
    Add cooked angel hair pasta and beef/peppers mixture; mix well until combined. Remove from heat.
  • Step 9
    Spoon into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Step 10
    Bake for 25 minutes or until they are golden brown. Cool completely for 10 minutes.
