baked penne with sweet and tangy turkey
This new baked penne casserole is gonna be delicious. I created this recipe, filled with leftover turkey meat chunks are seasoned with Grill Mates's Sweet and Tangy seasoning.

Ingredients
- 16 ounces dry penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- 5 cups leftover turkey meat chunks
- 1 medium carrot, chopped
- 2 - banana peppers, sliced
- 3 portobello mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 4 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning, divided
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 packet Italian salad dressing mix
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
How To Make baked penne with sweet and tangy turkey

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 3Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 11 minutes. Drain.

Step 4Heat avocado oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add leftover turkey meat chunks, chopped carrots, sliced banana peppers, and sliced portabella mushrooms; saute for 6 minutes or until they are tender.

Step 5Stir in Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning, dry onion soup mix, and onion powder. Reduce to low heat.

Step 6In a medium bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, half and half, Italian salad dressing mix, cream cheese, and remaining sweet and tangy seasoning; whisk well for 3 minutes until blended and smooth.

Step 7Add cooked penne pasta and cream mixture onto the turkey mixture in the saucepan; stir together until combined. Cover and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 8Remove from heat. Spoon into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle with shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese.

Step 9Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
