I created a baked mostaccioli recipe that is filled with salsa beef. It looks like pizza casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cubed process American cheese
  • 2 3/4 cups hot chunky salsa, divided
  • 16 ounces uncooked mostaccioli pasta
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons prime rib seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes, divided
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons pizza seasoning
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend

How To Make baked mostaccioli with salsa beef

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step 2
Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add cubed American cheese and 1 cup of hot chunky salsa; mix well.
  • Step 3
Cook mostaccioli according to package directions; drain.
  • Step 4
Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until evenly browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • Step 5
Stir in prime rib seasoning, 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, 1 cup hot chunky salsa, and cooked mostaccioli.
  • Step 6
Remove from heat. Spoon into a prepared baking dish; mix well.
  • Step 7
Heat margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Step 8
Add heavy cream, evaporated milk, pizza seasoning, cream cheese, and remaining hot chunky salsa. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat.
  • Step 9
Pour slowly into the casserole and spread evenly. Sprinkle with shredded Mexican cheese blend.
  • Step 10
Bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Cool completely for 10 minutes.
