Ingredients

  • 750 grams lean ground beef (1 1/2 lbs.)
  • ground Himalayan pink salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)
  • 1/2 tablespoon steak seasoning of your choice
  • canola oil, as needed to bbq grates
  • 8 slices processed cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup classic burger sauce
  • 4 Boston lettuce leaves (substitute iceberg)
  • 4 slices beefsteak tomato
  • bread & butter pickles, as needed
  • 12 red onion slices, or as needed

How To Make ultimate cheeseburgers

  • Step 1
Generously season meat with salt and pepper; add steak seasoning if you go for it. Mix well and form 4 equal patties.
  • Step 2
Cover with plastic wrap, and transfer to the fridge for at least 2 hours and up to 8 hours.
  • Step 3
A few hours later, take the patties out of the fridge and let them get to room temperature.
  • Step 4
Using tongs and a paper towel, oil grates with canola oil and bring the BBQ temperature between 500 degrees F to 550 degrees F.
  • Step 5
Place patties on the oiled grates, close the lid, and grill them about 6 to 7 minutes per side for medium-rare or 8 to 9 minutes for medium.
  • Step 6
About three minutes before they’re done, place hamburger buns on the upper rack and top the patties with a couple of slices of cheese. Close the lid and continue cooking until the time is up.
  • Step 7
To assemble… Spoon Classic Burger Sauce on the bottom and top of toasted hamburger buns. From the bottom up, place lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a patty – add another patty for a double cheeseburger.
  • Step 8
Place Bread & Butter Pickles on top of the patty as well as red onion rings before putting the top buns.
  • Step 9
