- 1 pound ground lamb
- 4 - garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- FOR SERVING:
- - pita bread
- - plain yogurt
- - mint
- - cucumber slices

Step 1Put the ground lamb into a bowl with the remaining ingredients and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

Step 2Put under the broiler, 4 inches from the heat, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until browned and firm.

Step 3Serve in pita bread with yogurt, mint, and cucumber slices.
