No one else makes this quite like I do. This and anything with a crust, and cheese were my childrens favorites.

Ingredients For z's sheppard's pie

  • 3 lb
    ground lean sirloin
  • 1 pkg
    mixed soup vegetables (frozen, or canned)this is frozen
  • 1 pkg
    frozen mixed chinese vegetables with broccoli and califlower
  • 8 oz
    large shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 pkg
    deep dish pie crusts
  • 6 lg
    potato's peeled cut up and boiled, made into mashed potato's
  • 1 c
    of milk or cream (for gravy)
  • 1/2 sm
    onion chopped
  • 1 pinch
    garlic salt
  • 1 each pinch
    peppers black and red
  • 1/2 c
    flour(for gravy)
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 1 sm
    tub of ricotta cheese

How To Make z's sheppard's pie

    In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until brown, reduce heat and add the flour, salt and peppers until brown , steady stirring add milk or cream, reduce heat to simmer. set aside when thick.

    In a wok or large skillet add all the vegetables and butter, cook on low heat until done, add salt and pepper to taste.remove from heat and add Ricotta cheese.Stir and blend set aside.

    In a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees slightly brown the 2 pre made pie crusts, about 5 minutes. Remove to counter, in the bottom of both crusts add a sprinkle of shredded cheese to cover the bottom. in layers add vegetables, shredded cheese, meat and gravy mixture, cheese, mashed potatoes end with a srinkle of shredded cheese on top, evenly in both pie crusts.

    Bake in a 350 degree oven for around 50 minutes or until the mashed potatoes are brown and the pies are bubblely. Let cool and serve. If you make 2 you can freeze one and eat one, or serve them both and it will feed up to 12 people. Serve with warm, buttered croissants
