zesty texas short ribs
These beef short ribs can also be cooked in a slow cooker or the oven. The chili sauce gives the ribs a very nice tangy flavor. Prep time does not include refrigeration time.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (more to taste or optional)
- 5 pounds beef short ribs, trimmed of fat
- 1 bottle heinz chili sauce - 12 oz. bottle
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup water
- - olive oil
How To Make zesty texas short ribs

Step 1In a small bowl, combine chili powder, seasoned salt, garlic powder, cumin, coriander and hot sauce, if using, and mix well.

Step 2Rub ribs thoroughly with spice mix and place in a gallon resealable bag - refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 3In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients and after mixing thoroughly - remove 1/2 cup for basting. Add the remaining marinade to the ribs and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Step 4Remove ribs from bag and discard marinade. Grill ribs over low heat for 45 min. to 1 hour or until tender - turning once and basting often. Do not baste within last 5 minutes of cooking.
