This is not just another sloppy joe recipe. It is really yummy and my husband thinks they are the best ever. The side dish is Jane's Creamy Ranch Potatoes which are so super!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2
    celery ribs with leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 c
    chopped green pepper
  • 1 2/3 c
    canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 c
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    steak sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    paprika (i use hungarian as it has more flavor than the regular)
  • 8
    sandwich buns, split

How to Make Yummy Sloppy Joes

Step-by-Step

  1. In a Dutch oven over medium heat brown your ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper until the meat is no longer pink and the veggies are tender; drain.
  2. Add the next 9 ingredients; mix well. Simmer uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes stirring occasionally. Spoon 1/2 cup of the meat mixture into each bun. Enjoy.
