Ingredients
- 3 pounds chuck roast
- 3 - bay leaves
- 5 - carrots
- 2 - onions
- 4 - potatoes
- 2 cups water
- - salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
How To Make yankee pot roast

Step 1Brown beef in hot skillet on both sides.

Step 2Turn burner down and add water and bay leaves.

Step 3Salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4Cover and simmer slowly for 3 - 4 hours or until beef is fork tender.

Step 5Peel vegetables and cut potato in half.

Step 6Add to pan, cover and simmer another 30 minutes or until carrots are tender.

Step 7Thicken pan juices for gravy.
