Winning Spaghetti Pie
I always serve this with garlic bread and a salad.
8 ozpkg spaghetti noodles ( i use thin spaghetti)
1/3 cgrated parmesan cheese
1 Tbspbutter, melted
1 ccottage cheese, small curd
1 lbground beef
1/4 lbitalian pork sausage, ground
7 ozcan mushroom pieces, drained
16 ozcan tomato sauce
1 tspgarlic powder
1 tsporegano, dried
1 cmozzarella cheese, shredded
How to Make Winning Spaghetti Pie
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook spaghetti noodles according to package. Drain.
While spaghetti noodles are still warm, not hot, stir in the parmesan cheese, egg and butter and noodles in a bowl. In a sprayed 10 inch pie pan, pat the noodle mixture up around the sides as well to form a crust. Pour the cottage cheese over the crust.
- Brown the meat, sausage, and mushrooms together in a large skillet. Drain off the fat when browned. Add to the meat mixture the tomato sauce, garlic powder, oregano and 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour meat mixture over the cottage cheese. Try to cover all the noodles with sauce so it stays moist. Bake for 30 minutes. Take out of the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top and put back in the oven until cheese melts. About 5 minutes.
