I love this on a chilly night! It calls for consomme, but I find that too strong and rather salty, so I use broth. You can use whichever you prefer.

Ingredients

1 lb
stew beef
1/2 c
burgundy or any dry red wine
1 can(s)
consomme or beef broth
3/4 tsp
salt
1/4 Tbsp
pepper
1/4 c
good quality bread crumbs
1/4 c
flour, sifted
1
medium onion, sliced

How to Make Wine and beef casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1combine beef, wine, broth, s&p and onion. Mix flour with breadcrumbs and stir into the meat mixture.
  • 2Cover and bake at 300 degrees for (approx) 3 hours
