whatever i could find in the cabinet "chili"

So, my dad is visiting and I needed something quick to fix that I knew he could eat. It's cold and rainy and I was not going back out to the store. For a minute I did not know how it would turn out. All I can say is "Look at what God did"!!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground round hamburger meat
  • 3 cans rotel diced tomatos & green chiles(10oz)
  • 1 can kidney beans, canned
  • 1 can pork and beans(10oz)
  • 1 clove garlic(chopped)
  • 1 medium onion(chopped)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oregano, dried
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sweet basil
  • 2 dashes salt and pepper

How To Make whatever i could find in the cabinet "chili"

  • Step 1
    Place ground beef in a med-large pot.
  • Step 2
    Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain all fat except 2 tablespoons.
  • Step 3
    Add the garlic and onion, cook and stir until tender
  • Step 4
    Add all other ingredients to hamburger.
  • Step 5
    Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Step 6
    NOTE: I actually put everything in the crock pot on medium and forgot about it for 2 hours.
