This recipe was given to me by my mother in law shortly after I married my husband. It is one of his favorite meals, and even our picky 10 year old loves it.

Ingredients For velda's teriyaki roast

  • 2 lb
    beef pot roast
  • 2 pkg
    brown gravy mix
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 c
    merlot red wine
  • 2 c
    water
  • 6-8 md
    red potatoes
  • 3 md
    carrots, chopped
  • 1 md
    yellow or white onion

How To Make velda's teriyaki roast

    Place beef roast in crock pot.

    In mixing bowl, combine brown gravy with water. Mix well. Add soy sauce and wine. Set aside.

    Quarter potatoes, chop carrots, and slice onion. Place over roast in crock pot.

    Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Gravy mixture should cover roast at all times. If it does not, add more in the proportions of 1 pkg gravy mix, 1 c water, 1/4 c. soy sauce and 1/4 c. red wine.
