velda's teriyaki roast

This recipe was given to me by my mother in law shortly after I married my husband. It is one of his favorite meals, and even our picky 10 year old loves it.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef pot roast
- 2 packages brown gravy mix
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup merlot red wine
- 2 cups water
- 6-8 medium red potatoes
- 3 medium carrots, chopped
- 1 medium yellow or white onion
How To Make velda's teriyaki roast

Step 1Place beef roast in crock pot.

Step 2In mixing bowl, combine brown gravy with water. Mix well. Add soy sauce and wine. Set aside.

Step 3Quarter potatoes, chop carrots, and slice onion. Place over roast in crock pot.

Step 4Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Gravy mixture should cover roast at all times. If it does not, add more in the proportions of 1 pkg gravy mix, 1 c water, 1/4 c. soy sauce and 1/4 c. red wine.
