I love Stuffed Cabbage Rolls. This casserole is just as scrumptious but with less work!!!! This dish freezes well also.

ground beef
1/2 c
onion, chopped
1 clove
garlic, put through press
16 oz
tomato sauce
1 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
black pepper
4 c
cabbage, shredded, shred finely
8 oz
romano cheese, grated
8 oz
mozzarella cheese, shredded

How to Make Unstuffed Cabbage


  • 1Grease large casserole dish. Steam cabbage to wilt. Saute beef, drain off fat. Return to skillet and add onion. Heat until onion is tender.
  • 2Add garlic, tomato sauce, salt, thyme and pepper to mixture. Heat thoroughly.
  • 3Place part of cabbage in greased casserole; cover with part of meat sauce; cover this with mixture of cheeses.
  • 4Continue to layer until all mixture is used. Top with cheese.
  • 5Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
