tortilla wrapped taco
This is a fast and fun take on a couple of Mexican classics. I enjoyed experimenting until I got it the way my husband and I like it. I hope you enjoy it, too. If you do, or if you have any cool twists on it, leave me a comment! Enjoy! p.s. I say it serves 2 to 8 because, technically you can get 8 servings, my husband and I loaded ours up and ... well... it only served two! lol

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean hamburger
- 1 can cheese soup
- 8 ounces salsa
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 pinch pepper
- 4 tortillas
- 4 taco shells
- some shredded cheese
- optional sour cream, olives, etc.
How To Make tortilla wrapped taco
-
Step 1In a medium skillet, brown the meat as you usually would. Drain.
-
Step 2Add one can of cheese soup. Stir until well mixed. (For a bit of snap, add one can of nacho cheese soup instead.)
-
Step 3Add salsa. Stir until well mixed. (I used Pace, of course) (choose your heat level)
-
Step 4Add the chili flakes and pepper. (i added a tad of corn starch to thicken it faster because we were hungry.) Simmer until thickened, stirring so that it will not burn.
-
Step 5Lay a tortilla flat and sprinkle shredded cheese, not to the edge, but cover the center as thickly as you wish.
-
Step 6Spoon a layer of the meat mixture down the center in a thin strip.
-
Step 7Place your taco shell on the stip of meat mixture. Spoon some of the mixture into the taco shell.
-
Step 8Sprinkle shredded cheese into the taco shell. Add your optional items here.
-
Step 9Fold the tortilla up around your taco shell. (If your tortilla is large enough, you can make a burrito fold and wrap the entire taco, which is a nice surprise if you are serving guests.)
