grated parmesan cheese

shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make Tomato-French Bread Lasagna


  • 1In a skillet, brown beef, onion, celery and garlic; drain and set aside.
  • 2Toast bread; line the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 10 slices.
  • 3Top with half of the meat mixture and half of the tomatoes.
  • 4Combine seasonings; sprinkle half over tomatoes.
  • 5Drizzle with 1 teaspoon oil.
  • 6Crumble remaining bread over top.
  • 7Repeat layers of meat, tomatoes and seasonings and oil.
  • 8In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter; stir in flour until smooth.
  • 9Gradually stir in milk; bring to boil.
  • 10Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, about 2 minutes.
  • 11Remove from heat; stir in parmesan.
  • 12Pour over casserole.
  • 13Top with mozzarella.
  • 14Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is golden brown.
