Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped celery
- 2 - minced garlic cloves
- 14 slices french bread
- 4 large tomatoes, sliced
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1.5 cups milk
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
How To Make tomato-french bread lasagna

Step 1In a skillet, brown beef, onion, celery and garlic; drain and set aside.

Step 2Toast bread; line the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 10 slices.

Step 3Top with half of the meat mixture and half of the tomatoes.

Step 4Combine seasonings; sprinkle half over tomatoes.

Step 5Drizzle with 1 teaspoon oil.

Step 6Crumble remaining bread over top.

Step 7Repeat layers of meat, tomatoes and seasonings and oil.

Step 8In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter; stir in flour until smooth.

Step 9Gradually stir in milk; bring to boil.

Step 10Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, about 2 minutes.

Step 11Remove from heat; stir in parmesan.

Step 12Pour over casserole.

Step 13Top with mozzarella.

Step 14Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is golden brown.
