I'm so ready for cooler weather I've started pulling out my "Fall and winter" recipes.
This is one I've made for years - great as a side dish, but so hearty, we usually eat it like chili ( with a sweet twist)

Ingredients

  • 32 oz can(s)
    pork n beans
  • 16 oz can(s)
    kidney beans
  • 16 oz can(s)
    butter beans
  • 1 lb
    ground turkey or hamburger
  • 8 slice
    bacon ( i use turkey bacon)
  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    white sugar
  • 1/2 c
    catsup
  • 1 tsp
    white vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    dry mustard

How to Make Three Bean Bake

Step-by-Step

  1. Fry bacon; brown the ground turkey /beef;
    saute the chopped onions
  2. Combine all ingredients in Crock pot and simmer on med heat for at least 2 hrs
    If you prefer you can bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour
    Delicious!
