- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon jarred beef soup base
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How To Make texas style barbecued beef brisket
-
Step 1Lightly grease a 6 quart slow cooker; add onion and garlic.
-
Step 2Stir together the chili powder and the next 5 ingredients. Rub over the brisket; place the brisket over the onion mixture in the slow cooker.
-
Step 3Whisk together beer and chili sauce. Slowly pour the mixture around the brisket (to avoid removing spices from the brisket).
-
Step 4Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours, or until fork tender. Uncover and let stand in the slow cooker for 20 minutes.
-
Step 5Remove the brisket from the slow cooker; cut brisket across the grain into thin slices. Return brisket to the slow cooker, and spoon the pan juices over the meat.
