This is an easy way to serve up some bbq'd beef sandwiches. You could easily do this in the crockpot as well.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon tabasco or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1-2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 bottle 14 oz. bottle ketchup (or can use heinz chili sauce if preferred)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 cups onion, chopped
  • 3 1/2-4 pounds chuck roast

How To Make texas shredded beef

  • Step 1
    Place beef in a casserole dish.
  • Step 2
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the beef. Cover and bake at 275 degrees for 6 hours.
  • Step 3
    Remove from oven and shred the beef with two forks. Meat should fall apart easily.
  • Step 4
    Serve beef on hamburger buns or serve over mashed potatoes.
