Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 can tomatoes, 16 oz
- 1 can tomato sauce, 8 oz
- 1/3 cup rice
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- pinch black pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
How To Make texas hash

Step 1In large pan, cook beef, onion, bell pepper til the beef is browned. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes til rice is done.

Step 2Add cheese and cook til it melts. Serve with garlic bread and a green salad. Makes 4 servings. Note: Add mushrooms and green beans if desired.
