Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 large onions, sliced or chopped
- 2 - green peppers, cut in strips
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1 - no. 2 can of tomatoes
- 1/2 cup rice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How To Make texas hash

Step 1Brown onions and green peppers slowly in shortening. Add ground beef and cook until mixture is crumbly. Add tomatoes, rice and seasoning and mix thoroughly. Turn into casserole dish. Cover and continue to cook in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 45 minutes or until done.
