Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/3 cup water

How To Make tender meatballs in mushroom gravy

  • Step 1
    Pull apart bread into small, dime-size pieces.
  • Step 2
    Combine ground beef, bread, salt, pepper and minced onion in a large mixing bowl.
  • Step 3
    Using a spoon, scoop out rounds of meat mixture, or shape into several round, 2-inch balls by hand.
  • Step 4
    Brown meatballs in a hot skillet using a small amount of butter or oil.
  • Step 5
    Turn them occasionally so all sides are browned.
  • Step 6
    Place meatballs in a crockpot.
  • Step 7
    Add soup and water.
  • Step 8
    Cook on low for 6-12 hours, or high for up to 6 hours.
