Tator Tot Casserole

Kelli Thomas

This is my version of tater tot casserole. When I first moved out of my parent's house when I was in college, I didn't have a recipe. This is what I came up with. Now my husband and kids request it. (the black bits on top are the mushrooms from the cream of mushroom soup) :)

1 1/2 lb
ground beef
1/4 c
minced onion
1 pkg
16 oz frozen mixed vegetables
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg
32 oz frozen tator tots
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese
1 can(s)
of milk (using the soup can to measure)
salt and pepper

1Brown the beef with the onions in a skillet. Season the meat with the salt and pepper. Drain the excess grease from the browned beef. Place in a greased 13 x 9 baking pan.
2Layer the frozen vegetables on top of the beef. Next layer the cheddar cheese. Then add the whole package of Tator tots, lining them up in rows so they all fit.
3Whisk the soup and milk together in a bowl (I pour the milk into the soup can to measure). Pour the soup mixture over the top of the Tator tots.
4Bake at 400 degrees for 55 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
