I have several old recipe books that belonged to my Grandma. As I was looking for "something different" to prepare for lunch, I found this recipe. This simple recipe comes from a Good Housekeeping book called "hamburger & hot dog book" and is dated 1958. A price of 39 cents is printed on the cover (Too cool!). I think these would also be good grilled.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 c
    grated raw potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    salad oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    snipped parsley

How to Make 'Tator Burgers

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together chuck, potatoes, onion, pepper, and salt. Shape into 8 patties.
  2. Heat oil in skillet; saute patties until crisp and brown, remove from skillet and keep warm.
  3. Add mustard and parsley to drippings in skillet; heat; pour over patties.
