My kids fav.! I think it was orig. a Paula Dean Recipe but Im not sure. It is the only way I make it and this household LOVES it!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 - egg lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

How To Make tangy southern meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce
  • Step 3
    Form this mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow pan
  • Step 4
    Stir together the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, mustard, Worcestershire
  • Step 5
    Pour this sauce over the meatloaf
  • Step 6
    Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices.
