My kids fav.! I think it was orig. a Paula Dean Recipe but Im not sure. It is the only way I make it and this household LOVES it!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 c
    bread crumbs
  • 1
    egg lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 16 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 3 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce

How to Make Tangy Southern Meatloaf

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce
  3. Form this mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow pan
  4. Stir together the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, mustard, Worcestershire
  5. Pour this sauce over the meatloaf
  6. Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices.
