This is my mothers recipe. She's in heaven, but her good cooking recipes have been passed down to me.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 8oz ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 4oz cans sliced black olives
  • 1 - egg beaten
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

How To Make tamale pie

  • Step 1
    Brown meat w/onion and garlic and chili powder till no longer pink.
  • Step 2
    Add 2 cans of tomato sauce and 1 can of the corn and cook a few more minutes.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl beat 1 egg slightly-add 1 cup of yellow cornmeal and 1/2 cup of milk.
  • Step 4
    Add to meat mixture and stir well. Add 1 can of olives.
  • Step 5
    Pour into greased 13 X 9 baking dish and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
