One of my favorite mexican style dishes used by my mother. My family loves it!

1 1/2 lb
ground beef
11 oz
can of green giant mexicorn (drained)
15 oz
can of chili beans
10 oz
can of diced rotel
1 pkg
taco seasoning mix
6 oz
can tomato sauce
1 pkg
cornbread mix

How to Make Tamale Pie


  • 1Cook ground beef until done and drain. Add in the mexicorn, beans(juice and all), taco seasoning, and tomato sauce.
  • 2Take the empty tomato sauce can, fill it half way with water, and add it to the meat mixture. Poor the meat mixture into a baking dish.
  • 3In a large bowl take the cornbread mix and mix up a batter just as the directions on the package say.
  • 4Using a spoon, put the cornbread batter on top of the meat mixture covering it all up even to the edges.
  • 5Bake at 400 until the cornbread is done. Use a toothpick to test that your cornbread is completely done if your not sure. Enjoy!
