Blue Ribbon Recipe

For a twist on Taco Tuesday, make this taco pizza for an easy weeknight meal. Regular pizza crust serves as a base. Instead of sauce, there's a layer of refried beans. Then, it's topped with taco meat and cheese. Set out taco toppings for everyone to customize their slice.

Ingredients For taco pizza

  • 2 pkg
    pizza crust mix (6.5 oz each), plus ingredients per package
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning
  • 1 can
    refried beans (16 oz)
  • 1 c
    Mexican blend shredded cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • crushed tortilla chips
  • chopped tomato
  • taco sauce

Instead of making 2 pizzas, we pressed the dough into a baking sheet and made this one big rectangle pizza. The recipe can easily be turned into 2 pizzas.
  • Prepare dough and let rest.

    Preheat oven as directed by the package directions on your pizza crust package. Prepare dough per package ingredients. Let dough rest.
  • Brown ground beef and add taco seasoning.

    Brown ground beef in a skillet, crumbling well. Drain. Add taco seasoning. Set aside.
  • Press pizza dough into a pan.

    Press the pizza crust in either 2 pizza pans or 1 large sheet pan.
  • Spread refried beans on the pizza dough.

    Spread refried beans on top of the crust.
  • Add taco meat.

    Add the taco meat on top of the refried beans.
  • Top with shredded cheese.

    Top the pizza with shredded cheese.
  • Bake the taco pizza.

    Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
  • Cut the slices and add your favorite taco toppings.

    Cut slices of pizza with a pizza cutter. Top generously with shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, crushed tortilla chips, and taco sauce.
