Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    chopped green chilies, mild or spicy (small can)
  • 1 c
    sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 jar(s)
    salsa, mild or medium (12 oz.)
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato sauce (small can)
  • 1 can(s)
    french fried onion rings, divided (small can)
  • 18 large
    pasta shells ( the kind you can stuff)

How to Make Taco Pasta Shells

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
    Cook Pasta according to package.
  2. Mix tomato sauce, salsa & 1 cup of water. Save until later.
  3. Cook ground chuck in a skillet with the onions. Salt & pepper to taste. Drain meat. Add green chilies, 1/2 of the cheese, 1/2 of the french fried onion rings & 1/2 of the sauce mixture.
  4. Stuff the shells with the meat and place open side up in 13x9 casserole. Pour the other 1/2 of the sauce over shells.Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until hot through & through.
  5. Sprinkle with rest of the onion rings and cheese. Bake for about 5 minutes more or until cheese is melted
