I needed something to serve to a large group immediately following church and came up with this. I left it in the crock pot on low so it would stay warm and be ready to go when we got home. I also set out a bowl of shredded lettuce, a bowl of cheese, and mixed the rest of the taco fixings together in a single bowl (tomatoes, black olives, onion, etc.) in taco sauce. Serve with shells and tortillas.

It was a huge success and is now a main staple in our household. We prepare many dishes using this as the base (Baked Tacos, chili, casseroles, etc.)

rotel , drained (optional)

How to Make Taco Meat


  • 1Brown ground beef with onion and LOTS of garlic.
  • 2Drain.
  • 3Add refried beans and drained Rotel.
  • 4Mix well.
