taco cabbage stew

I was making a cabbage soup that morphed into this. My family raved about it and I have made it ever since. Great served with Hawaiian sweet rolls. I always cook to taste so spice measurements are not exact on this, you will have to tweak it to taste. This is actually a really easy soup.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 2 cans beef broth
  • 2 - sm. head of cabbage, cut as desired
  • 2 cans green beans
  • 2 cans sweet corn, or use frozen
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 - sweet onion, diced
  • 1 cup garden fresh gourmet salsa
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cumin, more or less to taste. it's supposed to taste taco-y
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • - dash of cayenne (optional... for heat)
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - water

How To Make taco cabbage stew

  • Step 1
    Brown hamburger in the bottom of a large pot and then add veggies and pour in water until almost covering vegetables. The cabbage will cook down. Bring to a boil and then simmer covered. Add more water if needed. Add spices to taste and mix well.
