This recipe was given to me by my brothers ex-wife Laura. It is one of the family's favorite. Laura has passed but this recipe always remind me of her. Even after the divorce, she remained part of the family. Thanks Laura

Ingredients
- 4 LBS. ROUND STEAK
- 1 CUP FLOUR
- 1 3 cups vegetable shortening
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon savory
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups water
- 1(15oz0 can tomato sauce, reduced sodium
- 1(1 LB)12 can whole tomatoes
- 1 c cup chopped celery
- 1 1/8 cups chopped grreen peper
- 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese
How To Make swiss steak mozzarella

Step 1Bone and cut into eight pieces.

Step 2Pound both sides of meat with mallet, dredge in 1/2 cup flour

Step 3In a large skillet,brown meat in shortening.

Step 4Place meat in a 9x13x2 in. baking dish.

Step 5Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet;add seasoning and cook until brown.

Step 6Gradually blendin remaining ingredients except cheese; cook 5 minutes.

Step 7pour sauce over meat; bake uncovered; at 350 degrees, for 2- 21/2 hours. top with cheese last 5 minutes.

Step 8I like to put this into the crockpot after the meat is browned. Ialso make this ahead of time. THIS IS FOR A WEEKEND MEAL.
