round steak filets
1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
garlic salt
1/4 c
vegetable oil
large onion, sliced
28 oz
stewed tomatoes
1/2 tsp
dried oregano
1/2 tsp
black pepper

How to Make Swiss Steak


  • 1Pound Steak; mix flour and salt in bowl. Dip filets in the flour and set aside.
  • 2Heat oil in skillet. Add filets and brown on both sides.
  • 3Spread onion over the top of the filets.
  • 4Add tomatoes, oregano and black pepper. Add 1/2 cup water. Turn down to simmer and cook 45 minutes or more. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
