Ingredients

  • 4 - round steak filets
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 - large onion, sliced
  • 28 ounces stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

How To Make swiss steak

  • Step 1
    Pound Steak; mix flour and salt in bowl. Dip filets in the flour and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in skillet. Add filets and brown on both sides.
  • Step 3
    Spread onion over the top of the filets.
  • Step 4
    Add tomatoes, oregano and black pepper. Add 1/2 cup water. Turn down to simmer and cook 45 minutes or more. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
