Gramma ALWAYS made these for banquets, picnics or anytime she needed a covered dish. Since finally finding the recipe in the correct cookbook, I shall now continue the tradition!

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles chili sauce
  • 2 jars grape jelly
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • - meatballs
  • - crockpot

How To Make sweetish meatballs

  • Step 1
    prepare your own meatballs or use bagged meatballs
  • Step 2
    use EQUAL amounts of chili sauce and grape jelly
  • Step 3
    mix sauce, jelly and ketchup in sauce pan. PRE-STIR to mix together to prevent from scorching to sauce pan.
  • Step 4
    bring to rolling boil while stirring.
  • Step 5
    remove from heat
  • Step 6
    starting with sauce, layer sauce and meatballs.
  • Step 7
    heat on low for 4-6 hours if using precooked meatballs that are cold. if using fresh hot meatballs just keep on warm setting. Gramma notes that 8-10 hours for just browned meatballs)
