sweet & spicy asian meatballs
Wanted something Asian for dinner tonight but didn't want to go out or to the store so I came up with this by using ingredients I had on hand. Turned out fabulous.

Ingredients
- MEATBALLS
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 4 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons lemongrass paste
- 1 tablespoon chinese 5 spice
- SAUCE
- 20 ounces can chunk pineapple drain reserving juice
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 6 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 8 - birds eye chilies seeds removed and rehydrated in hot water and chopped
- 2 tablespoons each oyster sauce and hoisin sauce
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
How To Make sweet & spicy asian meatballs

Step 1For the meatballs. Mix all ingredients together. Shape into balls should make about 30. Brown the meatballs in a frying pan working in batches. Transfer to a baking pan and bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes.

Step 2Meanwhile make the sauce. Set the pineapple chunks aside and mix the canned juice with the other 2 cups of pineapple juice. Mix all the ingredients together except cornstarch and water. Bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch and water together and whisk into the sauce to thicken.

Step 3Pour the sauce over the meatballs and garnish with the pineapple chunks. Great over rice
