sweet n sour pepper meatballs

This is my own recipe, hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.. afterall.. your my JAP family too!!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground hamburger ( i use 93%)
  • 1 can 12 oz. evaporated milk
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 large onion, chopped, fine
  • 2 - jalapeno peppers, chopped, fine
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 - eggs
  • - sauce ingredients:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 - onion, chunked
  • 3 - red and green bell peppers, chunked
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make sweet n sour pepper meatballs

  • Step 1
    In a very large mixing bowl, place hamburger and all the other ingredients, then mix with clean hands thoroughly... mix very well;;
  • Step 2
    Turn oven on to 350* while waiting for that to heat, gives you time to make the meatballs; make balls into about 2" balls and place on a large cookie sheet.. this recipe will make about 20 or so..
  • Step 3
    Bake in oven 40 min, or until browned lightly..While they are baking; you will have time to make the sauce: Cut up your onion and green peppers, and place in a medium size sauce pan with the other sauce ingredients stir well.. Place on burner at med. level.. bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until pepper and onion are no longer crisp..remove from heat.
  • Step 4
    Take your crockpot out, and when the meatballs are done, spoon them into the crockpot and pour the sauce over them.. put on low about 2 hours, then turn to warm until ready to serve.. serve with rice or noodles.. and a salad.. Enjoy
