Ingredients
- 12 small potatoes, peeled
- 3 pounds boneless beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 15 ounces can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
How To Make sweet and sour pot roast

Step 1Place potatoes in a slow cooker.

Step 2Trim fat from roast; brown in hot oil on all sides in a skillet.

Step 3Place meat in slow cooker.

Step 4Discard all but 1 tablespoon drippings from skillet; saute onion until tender.

Step 5Stir in tomato sauce, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, vinegar and salt.

Step 6Pour over meat and potatoes.

Step 7Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or until the meat is tender.

Step 8Before serving, pour sauce into a skillet.

Step 9Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened; serve with potatoes and meat.
