This is a great recipe.I've had it for a long time.

Ingredients

  • 11/2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce(1 cup)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch

How To Make sweet and sour beef stew

  • Step 1
    Brown meat in hot oil. Add next 6 ingredients, 1/2 cup water, and 1 teaspoon salt. Cover and cook over low heat till meat is tender, about 2 hours.
  • Step 2
    Combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water; add to beef mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Serve over noodles or rice.
