This is a combinations of several recipes I have tried and liked.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup crushed crackers & pretzles or bread crumbs
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 - onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh sno pead pods strings removed
  • 1/2-1 cup chopped fresh or canned mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 package lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 1 pinch garlic powder

How To Make surprise meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    Saute onions, mushrooms and sno pea pods in olive oil until tender
  • Step 3
    Mix meats with dry ingredients then add sauted veggies and mix.
  • Step 4
    Add wet ingredients: milk, eggs, and tomato soup and mix well.
  • Step 5
    Pour mix into large loaf pan and level so it is evenly spread out.
  • Step 6
    Cook in preheated oven at 350 for 1/2 to 1 hour or unitl center is done. Let sit for about 10 minutes before cutting. Will be slightly pink colored due to soup so don't over cook. We had this with scored potatoes and fresh carrotts,
  • Step 7
    The next day we made sandwiches for lunch with it cold. Delicious with a little spicy mustard or ketchup.
