Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 - garlic cloves, chopped
  • 6 - parsley sprigs, chopped
  • - olive oil
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 pound mozzarella cheese
  • - tomato sauce

How To Make stuffed meat loaf

  • Step 1
    Cut the mozzarella lengthwise into four pieces.
  • Step 2
    Mix all ingredients except mozzarella, thoroughly.
  • Step 3
    Form into a firmly packed football shape.
  • Step 4
    Make a deep lengthwise slit and stuff with mozzarella; close meat loaf firmly around cheese.
  • Step 5
    Heat oil in a large fry pan and brown meat loaf on all sides.
  • Step 6
    Gently lift out and place in simmering tomato sauce to cook slowly 30-45 minutes on low heat.
  • Step 7
    Serve sliced with pasta or rice.
