stuffed green peppers
This is a family favorite of mine. The addition of the sauce gives it an interesting sweet and sour taste to the meat and rice. You can adjust the amounts of brown sugar and vinegar to suit your own taste. I hope you enjoy as much as we all do.

Ingredients
- 4 medium green peppers
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2- 8 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
How To Make stuffed green peppers

Step 1Cut peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Carefully cut stem pieces off.

Step 2Parboil peppers until a fork just pierces pepper. Drain completely. Arrange in 10X15 baking dish or size needed to put all peppers separated.

Step 3Lightly brown ground beef and onion. Add salt, pepper, and cooked rice

Step 4Mix remaining tomato sauce with brown sugar and vinegar in a saucepan until completely combined. Add 1/2 cup to ground beef mixture and mix well.

Step 5Pile ground beef mixture into stuffed peppers. Pour remaining tomato sauce mixture evenly over stuffed peppers and top with cheese.

Step 6Cover baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
