A dear friend of mine made this for my family after I had had serious surgery. It has become a family favorite ever since. An easy and impressive meal.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This is a simple way to make stromboli at home. Using crescent roll dough instead of pizza dough is not only easy but it also creates a flaky, buttery crust. The ground beef and pepperoni filling is hearty and cheesy; just what you expect from stromboli. Slices of mozzarella cheese melt and become gooey. Serve with a green salad for a meal or cut small slices for a simple appetizer.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced green peppers
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups Prego spaghetti sauce
- all-purpose flour
- 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 package sliced pepperoni
- 4-8 slices mozzerella cheese
How To Make stromboli

Step 1In a skillet, brown ground meat along with the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Drain once the meat is browned. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Add sauce and heat thoroughly.

Step 3Allow the mixture to cool.

Step 4Unroll one package of crescent rolls on a very lightly floured countertop. Pinch seams together front and back. Roll with a rolling pin to about a 9x11 rectangle.

Step 5Place 2 slices of cheese in the center of the rectangle.

Step 6Top with pepperoni.

Step 7Spoon half of the beef mixture on top of the pepperoni and cheese.

Step 8Optional, but you can top with more cheese if you like things very cheesy.

Step 9Fold one long side into the center.

Step 10Then bring each horizontal end to the center and pinch together the seam. Repeat and make the second roll.

Step 11Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 12Let set for 5 minutes before cutting.
