soy sauce

dry sherry
2 Tbsp

garlic cloves, crushed

sirloin steak, thinly sliced
red bell pepper, thinly sliced
yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 large
onion, halved, sliced
1/4 lb
mushrooms, quartered

How to Make Stir Fry Beef with Peppers & Onion


  • 1Combine 1 tablespoon oil, soy sauce, sherry, water, cornstarch, sugar and garlic in a shallow nonmetal dish.
  • 2Add the steak strips.
  • 3Heat remaining tablespoon oil in wok or nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 4Add peppers, onion, mushrooms; stir-fry 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • 5Remove and reserve.
  • 6Add undrained steak to wok; stir-fry 2 minutes until no longer pink.
  • 7Return vegetables to wok; stir-fry to heat through.
  • 8Serve over rice.
